Gateway Studios and School of
Recording is a unique concept in the Music Industry. It combines the experience
of a professional recording studio with the progressive educational environment of Kingston University's School of
Music.
Pantelis Vassilakis's residency at Gateway Studios included
recording, mixing, and co-producing
musical works that employed a wide variety of ensembles. The facilities incorporate some of the latest recording technology and a
2,000 ft2 studio hall. He was supported in recording and
producing his
original works, including "Rites of Passage," a
studio recording of the material composed for the London
Chinese Orchestra. The work
received the National Training
Award, a UK annual award promoting "original contributions of
recent college graduates in business and the arts." |
